Do Adventists consider themselves to be the only true, remnant church?
The Adventist Church sees itself as the remnant church, but not as the only true church. It is important to understand the term “remnant church” refers to the specific prophecies of the Book of Revelation. Seventh-day Adventists believe that many other Christians, both in history and today, worship the true God and believe their salvation comes from faith in Jesus.
According to the prophecies of the Book of Revelation, the remnant church will -
- Honour God as creator (Rev 14:6-7).
- Obey Him by keeping His commandments (Rev 12:17; 14:12), and therefore worship Him on the seventh-day Sabbath.
We believe that these prophecies are of unique importance for our time. They point specifically to the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ (Rev 14:6).
