The Vision & Purpose of the Adventist Church
Adventists in the South Pacific have a vision to know, experience and share their hope in Jesus Christ. This vision expresses the collective feelings of our church members and leaders.
The vision statement has three parts:
- The head knowledge (studying the Bible)
- The heart experience (unconditional commitment to Jesus Christ and to one another), and
- The call to action (sharing our faith)

This vision is important to us because we believe -
- knowing hope is to know Jesus
- experiencing hope is a life with Jesus
- sharing hope is introducing others to Him

> Our specific mission in the South Pacific
Laurie Evans, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific believes this vision "has the potential to energise us corporately as we give expression to it at every level and incorporate it into the fabric, life and witness of the church."
His personal vision is that church members will grow in their relationship with Jesus, and that this becomes so intimate and vibrant that they not only know and experience the hope we have in Jesus, but feel compelled to share it with others.
Our mission as a worldwide church
The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to proclaim to all peoples the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and to unite with His church, and nurturing them in preparation for His soon return.
Our method
We pursue this mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through:
1. Preaching
Accepting Christ's commission (Matthew 28:18-20), we proclaim to all the world the message of a loving God, most fully revealed in His Son's reconciling ministry and atoning death. Recognizing the Bible to be God's Revelation of His will, we present its full message, including the second advent of Christ and the continuing authority of His Ten Commandment law. View our Worship section.
2. Teaching
Acknowledging that development of mind and character is essential to God's redemptive plan, we promote the growth of a mature understanding of and relationship to God, His Word, and the created universe. View our Education section.
3. Healing
Affirming the biblical emphasis on the well-being of the whole person, we make the preservation of health and the healing of the sick a priority and through our ministry to the poor and oppressed, cooperate with the Creator in His compassionate work of restoration. View our Health section.

7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
