Clarification regarding the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Pitcairn Island Study Centre.
September 29, 2004
Some recent articles in the media have confused the roles of the Pitcairn Island Study Centre and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Pitcairn Island Study Centre is an independently funded and operated organisation.
Its director, Herb Ford, does not speak on behalf of the Seventh-day Adventist Church but rather from his position as director of the Centre. He is not a leader of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church would also like to clarify the number of its members in the South Pacific. There were 366,672 baptised members as at the end of 2003.
Any messages from the Seventh-day Adventist Church are released in the Media section of this website. There you'll find the latest statistics and contact information for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific.
