Research shows good health directly linked to spirituality
The second Australian Conference on Spirituality and Health will be held at the Adelaide Festival Theatre from 27-29 August and will provide further findings that good health and wellbeing is directly linked to spirituality and religion.
“The conference provides a unique opportunity to explore important themes arising from current research that investigates the relationship between spirituality, lifestyle, cultural diversity and the workplace,” says Mr Marek Jantos, chair of the conference planning committee and director of the Behavioural Medicine Institute.
Keynote speaker for the conference is Professor Harold G. Koenig, founder of the Centre for the Study of Religion/Spirituality and Health at Duke University Medical Centre, North Carolina, USA and an international leader in research on Religion/Spirituality and Health.
Proceedings of the first Australian Conference on Spirituality and Health in 2005 was published in the May issue of the Medical Journal of Australia, creating intense media discussion on the findings of prayer as medicine.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific is the main sponsors for the conferences on Spirituality and Health.
