The old Binn Inn building on Fenton Street is in the process of a makeover and will soon be functioning as a community centre thanks to the initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pastor of the church, Marilyn Pasione, said she is thrilled that the church is moving to a more central location in town.

Queensland Times, Australia - 9 August 2008

A group of fundraisers returned to Ipswich Adventist School yesterday after a mammoth cycling trip from Rockhampton on Monday.

Walloon sales representative Andrew Kolbee organised the ride to raise money for global humanitarian organisation Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA).

The Sun Herald, Australia - 3 August 2008

With 50 schools nationwide, Adventist education is well represented in NSW with close to 5000 students enrolled in 23 schools.

"Adventist schools in Australia have been operating for well over a 100 years," Northern NSW education executive director Ralph Luchow said.  But he said it was a myth to suggest that Adventist schools existed only for students from Adventist homes, as 75 per cent of their students were from non-Adventist backgrounds.

Morning Bulletin, Australia - 3 August 2008

When Yeppoon's Ken Simpson related his real life experiences in Mongolia to the gathered throng of QCWA members last Wednesday, he held the audience captive.

The interest in Mongolia was great and provoked by the fact that it was the country of study for this year.
