SUMMARY:General Conference Session
DESCRIPTION:Greetings and welcome to the website for the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session\, to be held in St. Louis\, Missouri\, U.S.A.\, from July 3-12\, 2025. \n\n\nIn contrast to 61st GC Session held in 2022 for just 6 days in a hybrid setting due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, we are delighted that the 62nd Session will return to a fully on-site event for a full 10 days. The Session will be open for all to attend\, and everyone is encouraged to attend or to watch the live-streamed proceedings. \n\n\nAs a worldwide family\, we come together during the Session not only to conduct business\, but to be blessed by the wonderful fellowship of our brothers and sisters from around the globe. In addition to the regular business meetings\, numerous ancillary meetings will be reintroduced\, allowing all to enjoy a type of “camp meeting” experience with inspiring worship services during the week and on the weekends\, training sessions\, emphasis on our mission\, musical performances\, and special programs hosted by numerous ministries. In addition\, the live exhibit hall will return\, where visitors will enjoy learning more about their favorite ministries and organizations while discovering new resources and information from around the world. \n\n\nThe theme for the Session\, “Jesus is Coming\, I Will Go!” reminds us of our wonderful hope in the soon coming of our Savior and the importance of answering God’s call to go wherever He may lead to reach the world for Him. God has given Seventh-day Adventists a special message to share with the world\, found in the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14:6-12 and the fourth angel of Revelation 18:1-4. These messages are surely more relevant now than ever before in the history of the earth\, and God invites each one of us to be a part of His last-day proclamation. \n\n\nWhile there are many aspects of a General Conference Session\, it is primarily a spiritual and business meeting of the world Church. During the meetings\, world leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church are elected\, and worldwide items are decided\, such as fundamental beliefs\, as well as constitutional and church manual items. \n\n\nAs we look forward to the 62nd General Conference Session\, let’s pray together for God’s leading in a marvelous way as we plead for the outpouring of the latter rain of the Holy Spirit in anticipation of the soon second coming of Jesus Christ. We can be assured that “We have nothing to fear for the future\, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us\, and His teaching in our past history” (Testimonies for the Church\, vol. 9\, p. 10). \n\n\nLet’s continue moving forward together\, focusing on God’s Holy Word\, on the Holy Spirit’s wonderful work of personal and corporate revival and reformation\, and on Global Total Member Involvement saying\, “Yes\, Lord\, I WILL Go\,” helping to reach millions of people around the globe with the hope of Christ’s soon return! \n\n\nTed N C Wilson\, President\nSeventh-day Adventist Church \n\n\nWHY DOES THE ADVENTIST CHURCH HOLD A BUSINESS SESSION EVERY 5 YEARS? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE GC SESSION?\nGeneral Conference Session is a global spiritual gathering and a constitutionally required business meeting that has been held every five years since 1970. Its purpose is to vote on global leadership\, set the direction of the Church for the next five years\, and vote changes to the Constitution\, Fundamental Beliefs and Church Manual. \nDO YOU HAVE TO BE A DELEGATE TO ATTEND THE GC? HOW MANY DELEGATES ARE THERE? HOW ARE THE DELEGATES CHOSEN? WHAT IS THEIR JOB?\nGC Session is an open meeting—anyone can attend—but only delegates and invitees have the ability to speak and only delegates may vote. For this 62nd GC Session\, 2\,818 voting delegates are expected to attend. Each union nominates delegates to represent its field. In addition\, delegates representing major church institutions are selected. \nHOW CAN MEMBERS BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING THE SESSION?\nAttendees gain an understanding of the world church and how it operates. They will literally see people from more countries and language groups than any other meetings in the Church and possibly in the world. World church members that are not able to attend in person are encouraged to participate online as all the meetings will be livestreamed. \nDESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY AT GC SESSION FROM BEGINNING TO END.\nFor those working behind the scenes\, the day starts with a Steering Committee to determine the agenda items for the day. The first public meeting is morning worship\, followed by a business session that lasts until lunch. There is another business session in the afternoon. In the evenings\, world regions have a chance to showcase mission\, challenges\, and opportunities\, all presented with the color and flair of national dress and music. \nHOW DOES THE PROCESS OF ELECTING CHURCH OFFICERS WORK? WHAT OFFICES ARE FILLED AT A GC SESSION? AT WHAT POINT IN THE SESSION IS THE GC PRESIDENT SELECTED?\nA nominating committee is formed to nominate General Conference officers\, departmental directors and associate directors\, and division officers. The president is elected first and joins the Nominating Committee to offer recommendations on all the other nominations\, which the committee may choose to accept or reject. \nHOW CAN CHURCH MEMBERS GET UPDATES ON THE PROCEEDINGS AND VOTED ACTIONS AT GC?\nAdventist News Network and Adventist Review will be covering the event online\, and with articles and interviews onsite. We encourage our World Church members to enroll to ANN and Adventist Review\, and received instant news and official communications from this inspiring event. \nCAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP AT THE MEETINGS?\nDue to the technical nature of the General Conference Session event\, we are not able to accept any volunteer workers.

SUMMARY:Faith and Science Conference
DESCRIPTION:The universe has fascinated people for centuries—it’s beautiful galaxies\, nebulae and our very own solar system. \nWhat is the Biblical perspective of how the universe came into being and the dynamics of its large space-time structure? Does quantum physics provide an openness in the natural world for God to perform supernatural miracles? Also\, is there any Biblical or empirical evidence that life exists anywhere else in the universe? \nJoin us as we go on this fascinating journey together. Don’t miss out on the amazing astronomy field trip to the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium—there are only a limited number of places available\, so register now so that you are not disappointed!

SUMMARY:Right Around Australia 2025
DESCRIPTION:2025 Mission Journey: Right Around Australia\n\n\n\n\nJoin us in retracing the mission trip of 22-year-old Seventh-day Adventist Nevill Westwood on his exhilarating 1925 journey around Australia. Just as Nevill set off in his trusty Citroën 5CV\, we are retracing the expedition he and Greg Davies undertook a century ago\, in an identical reconstructed vehicle\, on our 2025 journey “Right Around Australia“. \n\n\nThe Men – Nevill Westwood & Greg Davies\n\n\n\n\nAfter becoming an Adventist in 1921 at the age of 18\, Nevill Westwood enrolled in the missionary course at Darling Range School; today it’s called Carmel Adventist College. It is here where he met the two-years-older Greg Davis. Nevill responded to a call for missionaries to travel through the northwest of Western Australia to sell a book explaining the prophecies of the Bible. It was entitled “Our Day in the Light of Prophecy”. He also had a keen interest in automobiles and possessed exceptional mechanical skills\, which served him well during his journey. There he made some fascinating experiences and learned a lot about his fellow Australians during the journey. \n\n\n\n\nThe Citroën 5CV – “Bubsie”\n\n\n\n\nThe Citroën was a 1923 5CV model. Nevill bought this car second-hand in Perth. He named the little car Bubsie and left Perth with his friend\, Greg Davies\, in the Citroën on 4 August 1925\, on his trip around Australia. See his original trip and our planned journey in the graphics below. The original Bubsie can be seen in the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. Go here to find out about the reconstruction of our Citroën 5CV for the 2025 journey. \n\n\n\n\nRetracing an Incredible Journey\nJust as the Apostle Paul’s missionary journeys captured the imagination of Nevill Westwood\, so Nevill’s missionary journey has captured our imagination at ‘The Incredible Journey‘. And so\, after 2 years of planning and discussion with Citroën Australia and the National Museum in Canberra\, where the original ‘Bubsie’ is on display\, ‘The Incredible Journey‘ has big plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this pioneering event in 2025 by retracing this incredible Journey. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese plans include:\n\n\n\n1. Retracing the steps of Nevill Westwood on his missionary trip around Australia in a similar 1923 Citroën 5CV \n2. Re-enacting a number of scenes from the original expedition \n3. Sharing the Everlasting Gospel as we go\, in the true spirit of Nevill’s journey. This will include conducting major evangelistic campaigns in all the state capitals of Australia\, as well as outreach programs and other forms of evangelism in many of the smaller regional centres\, and across rural Australia. \n4. Producing a number of television programs for national and international broadcast \n5. Producing social media content on a daily basis that portrays each day’s activities \n6. Engaging with all forms of local and national media to promote the incredible journey of this young Seventh-day Adventist missionary/evangelist pioneer\, and the message he shared along the way \nThe Plan and Proposed Stops\nGet ready to embark on an incredible journey with us in 2025! We have an awesome overview map showcasing our route’s planned stops. And guess what? You can even zoom in to get more details about each location. \nWe want everyone to feel included! If your city isn’t on our plan yet and you’d love for us to swing by\, give us a shout. We’ll do our best to work it out. So don’t hesitate to contact us\, and let’s see if we can add your town!
