The Australian Union Conference (AUC) youth department has released six new Pathfinder honours developed in collaboration with Pathfinder leaders across Australia.
Honours are a core part of the Pathfinder program, designed to support learning, service and spiritual development. The newly released honours include:
- Gem Fossicking: Teaches how to search for and identify precious and semi-precious gems in their natural environments.
- Steps to Christ: Encourages Pathfinders to read Steps to Christ by Ellen White, exploring the book’s spiritual themes and practical steps to a closer relationship with Jesus.
- Haystacks: Explores the origins and cultural significance of the popular Sabbath meal, using it as a tool for community and spiritual reflection.
- Paper Airplane: Introduces the principles of aerodynamics through paper airplane design, testing and flight challenges.
- Trout Fishing 1 and 2 (Advanced): Covers the history and techniques of trout fishing, including fly fishing and casting methods.
AUC youth director Pastor Jeffrey Parker said the new honours were a valuable addition to the program. “Honours are an integral part of the Pathfinder experience worldwide. These new options will help our Pathfinders grow their skills and knowledge, developing physically, mentally and spiritually,” he said. “We’re grateful to all those who contributed to writing and developing these honours.”
The new honours are available from local ABC shops or online
