A representative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church was among a group of educational leaders who met recently with Attorney-General of Australia, Mark Dreyfus, and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton to discuss the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) report on religious educational institutions and anti-discrimination laws.
The report is scheduled to be released by the end of the year and will affect staff and students at faith-based schools. Among those attending the meeting were representatives from Lutheran Education Australia, Christian Schools Australia, The Anglican Schools Corporation, Australian Association of Christian Schools, Associated Christian Schools, Christian Schools National and Adventist Schools Australia represented by Pastor Kojo Akomeah, government liaison officer.
