PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Building Bridges for a Better Understanding

Enhance public understanding of the SDA Church’s mission through our strategic engagements with civil society, advocacy for public policy, and commitment to societal improvement.

Why PUBLIC Affairs?

In a diverse and fast-paced world, prejudices can cloud the true identity and mission of faith-based organisations like the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Our Public Affairs department actively dispels these misconceptions through strategic engagements with key figures in society, including government officials, decision-makers, and community leaders. By presenting our various services such as education, health, humanitarian work, and religious freedom advocacy, we build trust, credibility, and relevance for the SDA Church in the public domain.

ABOUT PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The Public Affairs Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) is an integral part of our global endeavour to create a favourable environment for spreading the good news and inviting all into a loving fellowship with God and our fellow human beings.

Our primary role is to position the SDA Church and its wide range of services to a standing of credibility, trust, and relevance in the public domain. We accomplish this by actively dispelling prejudices against the SDA church’s identity, message, and mission through meaningful interaction with people and peaceful persuasion of distinct Adventist insights.

The Public Affairs Department collaborates with other church departments to advocate public policy positions on issues as diverse as health, education, environmental protection, peaceful coexistence, women’s and children’s issues, the rights of prisoners, and aid and development.
